PlayStation gaming and your IP address
What PSN and other players can see about your IP, and how to protect your connection.
What PlayStation Network sees
PSN sees your public IP to route game traffic and for regional services. In online multiplayer, player-to-player traffic is generally relayed through Sony's servers, so your IP is not directly shared with other players in most games.
We never log it
ipnow shows no ads and runs no trackers. We never store or log your IP address on our servers. Geolocation and ISP details are fetched from privacy-respecting third-party providers.
Protecting your PlayStation connection
To protect against IP-based DDoS attacks in gaming, contact your ISP for a new IP, use a VPN-capable router placed in front of your PlayStation, or temporarily switch to NAT Type 3 which blocks incoming P2P connections.
